Pets

Pets are companions that can be of great help to you in all of your endeavors in Jade Dynasty. Pets can help you by fighting, foraging, or crafting. Upon reaching LV35, you will automatically be given a quest to speak with Pet Master Ellan (208, 44) to obtain your first Pet.

Taming Pets

Before you can expect your Pet to do your bidding, you must first Tame it. To do this, speak with Pet Master Ellan. Choose the Tame Pet option, place your pet in the Pet slot and then click the Done button to confirm the action. Once your Pet is tamed, you can then move it to a Pet slot by right-clicking on it in your Bag.

Managing Pets

Most of the Pet controls are accessible through the Pet Roster interface which you can access by pressing the [P] key. Your initial Pet Roster can only hold two (2) Pets. There are items you can acquire in game and in the Marketplace which increase the number of Pets your roster can hold.

The top portion of the Pet Roster displays an overview of your selected Pet.

The button in the upper-right corner of the interface will allow you to set your Pet to engage in Combat, Forage for items, or Rest.

The button displayed beneath it allows you to specialize your Pet in either Crafting or Combat.

While the button below that contains all of your Pets attributes.

Feeding Pets

Pets get hungry over time. As hunger (referred to as the Belly attribute) can significantly reduce your Pet?s performance in combat, it is wise to always keep them well fed. You can manually feed your Pet by right-clicking on Pet food in your Bag while your active Pet is hungry. You can purchase food from Pet Tamer Totto in Sunstream City (212, 44).

You can automate the feeding of your Pet with a Pet Remedy Battery (such as Wongzo Grapes).

To use a Battery, left-click on the circle that appears directly to the right of your Pet Health bar while summoned to open the Pet Auto-Recovery interface. From here, drag the desired Battery into the slot provided. You can also configure the exact conditions of automated feeding.

Pet Age

Over time, your Pet will increase in Age. When your Pet reaches its maximum Age, you will be unable to use it further.

There are two (2) ways that you can extend the life of your Pet. If your Pet is still able to be summoned, you may purchase Pet Medicine sold by Pet Tamer Totto which you can use like a Pet Remedy to reduce the Age of your Pet.

The second method involves purchasing a Pet Training Leash which is to be used if your Pet can no longer be summoned.

Buying Pet

In the event you lose a Pet, or simply want others to choose from, you can purchase additional pets from Pet Tamer Totto.

There are also a number of Pets which are available through the in-game Marketplace?these Pets are usually on sale for a limited time only.

Free Pets

At LV45, you can acquire a quest from Pet Tamer Totto which grants you with a free Pet upon completion! While these Pets behave similarly to normal Pets, they do not grow or evolve like regular Pets. You can get one Pet in this manner per day. You can level them up and then Release them for Pet Training items that you can use to improve your primary Pet.
